Bi-weekly "Extension Module" Demonstrations

Take advantage of this open activity offered by Openbravo!

Open to all Openbravo Community members, this series of webinars will demonstrate through real extension modules the potential of Openbravo modularity, will help you better understand development techniques, processes and tools you can use to create extension modules, and will show concrete functional solutions to address specific requirements that might inspire you to create your own solutions.

What are "Extension Module" Demonstrations?

On-line demonstrations of real extension modules ready to be used in production environments and published in Openbravo Central Repository. These demos will be conducted periodically, with the objective of explaining through real examples all you need to know in order to create your own extension modules.

What format do the demonstrations follow?

Each extension module demonstration should take 1 hour maximum, with the following structure:

  • 15 minutes: functional demonstration of the extension module (what this module does)

  • 10 minutes: explanation about the processes and tools used to build the module (Openbravo forge, from design to publishing, maintenance, commercial modules, etc.). Each demonstration will put emphasis on one topic

  • 15 minutes: explanation about development techniques used to build the module (AD modeling, business logic based on DAL, Extension Points, Industry Templates, reference data, etc.). Each demonstration will put emphasis on one topic.

  • 20 minutes: Q&A

When are the next demonstrations going to be held?

  • Mass Invoicing (English): October 15th from 16h to 17h (CET)

    • Description: Invoice generator wizard based on templates

    • Process/Tool: Collaboration through Openbravo forge

    • Development technique: business logic based on DAL

  • Intercompany Documents (English): October 29th from 16h to 17h (CET)

    • Description: Automatic generation of inter-company documents

    • Process/Tool: Development process from requirements to code

    • Development technique: PL/Sql extension points

Next demonstrations will be defined based on your feedback and announced one month in advance

How can you register for a demonstration?

In short we will announce through this forum how you can register for a demonstration. You can monitor this forum to keep informed.

Registered attendees will receive details on how to access the demonstration via email before it takes place

It's simple and accessible - maximize your understanding of Openbravo Modularity!

Hi Isma

How can I receive the notifications about incoming demos? I missed the first one and got the second one by chance. Do I have to monitor this forum to get them? I find them very interesting.

Thanks
