How to create Opening Bank Balance in Openbravo 3

Hi,

How do you create an Opening Bank Balance in Openbravo 3? I know that in Openbravo 2.5, there is a tutorial on that subject. But for Openbravo 3, I haven't found it anywhere on the Internet.

Can someone show me the steps of creating it?

Cheers.

Hi,

You just need to create the financial account and you will find a field named "Initial balance". Fill it with the corresponding amount and that's it

Re: How to create Opening Bank Balance in Openbravo 3

Hi,

Thanks for the quick reply. So in another words, the new Openbravo 3 Financial Account has the built-in field to create Bank Opening Balance without having to got the long configuration like in Openbravo 2.5?

I just want to make sure as I don't want to miss any steps that can deeply affect the Accounting part of Openbravo 3.

Thanks.

Notice that when you setup the initial balance you won't be able to update anymore. Also notice that the current balance is calculated base on the initial balance + the sum of all transactions

Hi,

I've done what you have said. But I'm just wondering, why is the Current Balance is still 0.00 whereas I have put 10,000.00 as the Initial Balance?

Thanks

Re: How to create Opening Bank Balance in Openbravo 3

Hi,

I have recently implemented OB 3.0 for a customer. They are using it in Production environment (Financial accounts are already created and transactions added) but they want to initialize the balance of the financial account in 01/01/2012.

How can I do this?

Many thanks

Re: How to create Opening Bank Balance in Openbravo 3

Hi,

I'm having this problem with Financial Account in Openbravo 3.

Here are the steps that I did to get this result.

1. Application > Financial Management > Receivables and Payables > Transactions > Financial Account
2. Create New and fill in the details with Initial Balance $1,855.43.
3. Add Transaction and fill in the details with:
    Transaction Type : GL Item
    Transaction Date : 05-09-2011
    GL Item : Sales Laundry
    Received In : $730.00

My question, why is the Ending Balance and Current Balance is not the same? Shouldn't both of them have the same figures?

Thank you.

Shaiza
